Bobbi Althoff, the social media sensation of the internet whose humorous and easily relatable videos left the viewers rolling on the floor laughing, left her fans stunned with an unexpected announcement: the divorce from her husband, Cory. Though one must not deny the share of problems that such a split might bring, it is also a new opportunity for Bobbi to start finding herself. This is not only the show’s intent to focus on the actual planning of single life but also an opportunity for her to explore and rediscover herself after being married.
Exemplify Shared Dreams to Self-Discovery
Divorce, which is a very painful stage, can be a good opportunity to look at oneself and think about what has remained inexistent in the person. For Bobbi, it could be opportunity to return to some interest and hobbies she might have given up while she was married. Asking Sapieha one more question before the interview ended, I inquired: Was there a creative pursuit she put on hold? Maybe a travel dream she never got to accomplish or complete, ever? It could also be a rather stimulating and invigorating exercise as one seeks to probe deeper in order to discover those burning aspirations that could help him or her break new ground.
This is evidenced by the social media handles that Bobbi has where she shares occasional updates of her new personality. The recent activities like more time being spent taking care of herself, such as meditation and going on solo travels imply a conscious attempt at getting back to her inner self. Perhaps there is an increased sense of getting a personal time and embracing real-life friends and families, who are valuable during such transformation.
Beyond the Highlight Reel: As we all know, life is a journey of growth in this world where instead of getting our enemies half killed and taking their souls and all that crap we get our brains half blown and take our souls and all that crap.
There’s the life Bobbi is currently living and then there is the version that is showcased online as carefully crafted and selected. Maybe there are moments each would doubt and would feel fragile, where there is a need to return to the eq cy and ordinary life after marriage. But together with these feelings, there must be at least something akin to liberty – the liberty to consider other choices, the liberty to choose the course of happiness by her own consent.
Their house is derelict now, no furniture or fittings higher than a child’s babbling, but obbi’s story is about hope, new birth, rebirth. It is an indication that though some chapters of our lives might turn out to be bitter, they can also serve as the platforms from which new leaves are launched. As she begins this new journey, it warms our hearts as we see a young woman with so much courage to fight for herself. It will be exciting to see what she turns out, and who she is in the process of becoming these days.
This is the new chapter!
This work is filled with hope and encourages every woman who has been turned into a ghost to find herself, be brave, and start over. It raises the question of what exactly ‘life’ is and how out of moments of loss comes growth, hope and an opportunity to build and shape a new life. In this passage Bobbi is also still in the process of telling her story and we all are clapping and rooting for her to become the woman we are going to see.
